Aisling Ennis (harp)

Unshaped Form with Sam Perkin (piano) & Aisling Ennis (harp)

O'Hara, Smith & Lacey (trombone, piano, percussion)

Vito Sputnik (piano and bandoneon)

Kaleidoscope Night is delighted to welcome back Harpist Aisling Ennis to perform a mixed programme of late Baroque / early Classical, rarely heard composer Geminiani who in his day was considered to be an equal of Handel and Corelli.

A live film score treat from Unshaped Form (Lioba Petrie on cello and vocals with Cameron Doyle electric guitar and effects ) will once again join forces with special guests Sam Perkin (piano , guitar effects) and Aisling Ennis (harp) performing a brand new live score to the 1928 silent film "The Fall Of The House Of Usher" based on  Edgar Allen Poe's Gothic tale.

O'Hara, Smith & Lacey

This will be the first outing of this exciting trio of free improvisation/spontaneous-composition Colm O’Hara (trombone), Paul G. Smyth (piano), and David Lacey (drums) are breaking new ground as a formidable trio in Ireland's free music scene. Known for their fearless approach to improvisation, these three trailblazers converge in this new trio setting. O’Hara, known as “one of Ireland’s most renowned improvisers” by The Journal of Music, brings his nuanced and deep understanding of jazz, classical, and world music into his dynamic performances. Smyth, praised as “a revelation” by The New York City Jazz Record, brings a daring and exploratory approach to the piano, with collaborations spanning the avant-garde and psych-rock worlds. Lacey, a versatile percussionist, has worked with seminal experimental legends throughout his career and seamlessly merges a multitude of genres through improvisation. This trio’s collaboration embarks upon new territory for Ireland’s free music landscape, where their collective energy and sonic curiosity create an unpredictable and dynamic listening experience

Vito Sputnik is an Argentinean instrumental tango duet formed by Agustina Taborda on bandoneon and Ernesto Inouye on piano. They are part of a new generation of tango musicians from the city of Rosario. Their repertoire takes up the compositions of the great Orchestras of the first half of the 20th century, played with a vigorous and dynamic style. They came together in 2010 and have performed extensively around Argentina and its neighbouring countries. Since 2022 the duet has been on an annual tour around Ireland and the UK.
